Burn calories to lose weight

Have you ever wondered why there are people who eat whatever they want, never refuse dessert, less exercise, but never seen gaining weight. Being on the other hand, you do all the things suggested but still gained a few pounds.

Suzanne Somers convey: "Around the age of 40 years, my weight increased 10 pounds. I always have a perfect metabolism. But my metabolism then treacherously as in most people, except in some very rare person, who always lean."

Why does this happen? A report from Johns Hopkins asserts, the answer lies in metabolism. This determines how the body's metabolism to change what you eat or drink into energy or stored fat. The good news is there are ways to speed up metabolic rate and burn more calories regardless of age or weight.

Everyone has Resting Metabolic Rate Body (RMR or resting metabolic rate). It can be likened to a furnace metabolism continues to burn calories even if we are sleeping, reading, or watching television. Every 24 hours, when the heart needs to beat up to 100,000 times, calories are required to keep us alive. Everyday functions require 65 to 75 percent of the total number of calories we receive from food and beverages.

Energy for physical activity requires 15-30 percent of total calories. The remaining 5-10 percent of calories burned in the form of food is digested and moves through the digestive tract.

So how to begin to speed up the metabolism so that more calories are burned? A good start is to form more muscle, although not scoot 1 mile in four minutes. Conversely, every kilogram of muscle burns up to six calories per day compared to only two calories a day for fat loss.

This means that if you can swap five pounds of fat for five pounds of muscle, you'll burn 20 more calories per day. Burn 7,300 calories a year would reduce one kilogram. Do you think not much, is not it? But if done for 10 years you will feel 10 pounds lighter. As the old saying "A journey of anything begins with the first step!"

To form more muscle and speed up metabolism, start with an exercise program that capacity being. Sports with moderate capacity for thirty minutes five times a week can burn 1,000 calories. This means you have reduced 7.5 pounds more per year. Add resistance training, such as lifting weights or doing sit-ups to maintain muscle loss associated with aging.

Do not miss breakfast. This will reduce the cravings a few hours later.

Sleep. If you do not get a night's sleep seven to eight hours a night, ghrelin levels will increase, which will slow down your metabolism and increase appetite. In one study, those who sleep five and a half hours a night weight is reduced only half of those who sleep eight hours a night.

Make sure you are eating enough protein. Carmen Roberts, a nutritionist at Johns Hopkins, said protein is a source of food is the most difficult to be broken, so it takes more calories to digest it. That means, no matter what your weight lost comes from fat and not muscle.

Multiply drinking water, because water is the best calorie-free drinks. Studies show that drinking two cups of water can speed up the metabolism by 40 percent over the next 30 minutes. Partly because the body must warm up the water from room temperature to body temperature.

During difficult financial times, you can save money and increase metabolism by turning off the air conditioning in your home. The previous generation burn more calories just by trying to keep warm. Exercising outdoors in cold weather can also achieve the same effect.

Are you getting sleepy reading this column? If you experience it, pour a cup of tea or coffee. Both of these drinks can accelerate the metabolism and heart rate.

Chili also increase the level of metabolism. But it is wise to avoid too much caffeine or make food too spicy just to lose weight.

Remember that the first step is the most difficult thing. But if you are wise enough then you are definitely going to keep doing it. (thepochtimes / dr. Gifford-Jones, m.d. / feb / yant)
